Welcome Back for 2014!

3/02/2014

Welcome back to a new school year.  A special welcome to the Year 8 students who are new to our school.  We hope that you enjoy your schooling years at Lockyer High.
This year the school has undergone many changes with two new buildings, S and R, as well as the renovations to the school library.
Another positive change is to the school’s behaviour management, with a new program, School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (S. W. P. B. S.) which is designed to award students for good behaviour.
In 2014, we have had many new additions of fantastic staff members to LDHS, such as Mrs Richardson, who is teaching Science and Math, and Mr Orford who now has a permanent position here at Lockyer.  Also joining us at LDHS is Miss Eastburn, who is working in the SEP department, as well as the newly appointed guidance officer, Ms Booth.  Along with these new teachers, there are others in the varying departments at Lockyer and we extend our welcome to all of them.
The school sport shirt is another long-term change-over, with the shirt first being designed half way through 2012 and the first shirts being made near December 2012, along with the school tracksuit.  In 2014, the school has almost completely changed from a sea of yellow to an ocean of green and purple with a very large percentage of the school wearing the new uniform.
Although there have  been many changes to the school, the Newsfix Team will remain the same.  We will be updating the school community on current events and achievements, so please be sure to check out the website weekly for new stories and updates.
