UQ Gatton Experience Day

Recently a group of Year 7 and 8 students attended the UQ Gatton Experience Day. It was an amazing opportunity for all of the students to get a glimpse into their potential future pathways in the Agriculture and Environmental Sciences Industries.

We started the day with a tour of the campus, then progressed to rotate through a variety of interactive activities including: a visit to the goat farm, the horse stables and solar farm. At each of these stations the students had the chance to have personal interactions with some of the passionate UQ students. The feedback from the Lockyer students speaks for itself:

“It gives you so many opportunities!! I’d never thought of equine science but after today, I think I’d enjoy it.”

Charlotte Manser

“My favourite activity was learning about the horses, because it was informative and entertaining.”

Audrey Wright

“After today, I would be interested in going to university to be a vet or work with animals.”
