Sporting Hero

Sarah Hoger is an amazing softball player who recently made it to the Australian team which went over to America. In the tournament her team played against college teams from Australia and America.
Sarah’s team played against fifteen teams.  Overall, the team performed considerably well, coming fifth out of forty-four teams; an amazing achievement.
Sarah originally started playing softball in Grade Five.  She said that her mother was a great influence on her sporting life as Mrs Hoger also represented Australia in softball.
Last year, Sarah hyper-extended her knee, meaning she was unable to play in an under-nineteen carnival thus affecting her ability to make the Queensland team.  However, this didn’t stop her in the long term. Now Sarah is hoping to be accepted for a sporting scholarship in America next year.
We wish Sarah the best of luck with her scholarship application and hope she will have a successful career in whatever area she chooses, sporting or otherwise.
