Regional Winner - Showcase Awards 2019

Big news, everyone! We have this week received news that Lockyer District High School - along with our primary partners Lake Clarendon State School and Gatton State School - is the Regional Winner for the QSuper Showcase Award for Excellence in the Secondary Years!
Now in its 20th year, the Showcase Awards are widely regarded as the most prestigious educational awards in Queensland, showcasing excellence in education, innovation and leadership.
The joint submission, titled "U...sing STEM as a (semi-autonomous) vehicle towards multi-campus collaborative success", recognises the collaborative work of our staff and students in developing our STEAAM - Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture, Arts and Mathematics - strategy. This incorporates curriculum activities such as CSI (Challenge, Solve, Investigate) and the Lake Clarendon State School SAILS program, along with Year 4-to-Year 13 and beyond robotics and coding focuses through our partnerships with UAV Training Australia (Certificate III in Aviation) and Kitsunei (robotics and coding platform).
Congratulations to all of the students and staff involved, and a big thank you to all of our partners who have supported our students and staff to make this happen. Fantastic recognition of your ongoing hard work and commitment to LDHS providing opportunities for students.
We now go on to the State Awards, with winners to be announced at the Showcase Awards Gala Dinner in Brisbane on Friday 25 October 2019.
