Literacy and Numeracy Week Ends with a Bang!

Student Contestants

Last Friday in the library, students and teachers competed in the Spelling Bee. It was a gruelling battle of the biggest vocabulary and in the end, Year 8 students Lakota Warfield and Caleb Kilpatrick tied for first place.

After the Spelling Bee came the Maths Challenge. Contestants had to complete a magic square and solve an equation; with the first person to solve both puzzles as the winner. After a few close calls, Mrs Taylor won for the teachers and Amelia Webster came first out of the students.

The participants in both the Spelling Bee and the Maths Challenge were very competitive. Well done to all who were involved!
