Jackson Poole Stars in Major Production

Jackson Poole, Year 9 LDHS student, has successfully made his way into the Brisbane production of 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang'. The musical will be held at QPAC theatre and involves several well renowned actors, such as David Hobson, Rachel Beck and Shane Bourne.

'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' follows the misadventures of Caractacus Potts and his two children, Jeremy and Jemima. The story begins when Caratacus purchases a rundown race car and then proceeds to fix it, when he discovers that the car can fly as well as float on water. So the trio embarks on an adventure to Vulgaria, where they attempt to save all the children who have been kidnapped by the malicious Baron and Baroness.

The auditioning process tests an actor’s ability to sing, dance and act.  Luckily, Jackson has made it through all three stages and is now playing the role of one of the children who has been kidnapped.

Jackson’s first experience in musical theatre was in Grade 7, where he auditioned for the production of 'Mary Poppins', though he only made it to the first call-back. Earlier this year, he appeared in the Toowoomba musical 'The Wizard of Oz', where he performed the part of a munchkin.

“I enjoy musical theatre because you get to meet new people and it is something I’m very passionate about. I get to do what I love and I intend to make a career in the Arts.”

'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' begins showing mid-November and continues until the 22nd of December at QPAC theatre.
